Ø       July 7 Decree by the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples to establish an Apostolic Administration in Atyrau and to appoint
    Fr. Janusz Kaleta as Apostolic Administrator in Atyrau.

Ø       Aug 06 Decree issued concerning the changes in the structure of the Church in Kazakhstan announced.

Ø       Sept 24 Arrival of Fr. Janusz Kaleta and Fr. Waldemar Patulski to Kazakhstan.

Ø       Oct 17 The ingress of Fr. Kaleta in Aktjubinsk.

Ø       Oct 28 Arrival of Fr. Janusz Kaleta and Fr. Waldemar Patulski in Atyrau.

Ø       Nov 2. Purchase of apartment in Atyrau (an advance).

Ø       Dec 24 The first mass with ‘the people’ in the hotel ‘Chagala’ for the OKIOK employees (currently Agip).

Ø       Dec 25 The first mass in Gerlina Menich’s apartment.

 

2000

 

Ø       Feb 29 Registration of the Atyrau Apostolic Administration.

Ø       June 28 Decision of the Akim of the Atyrau Oblast to assign a parcel of land for the construction of the church in Atyrau.

Ø       July 26 Land purchase agreement signed for the building parcel for the church.

Ø       Aug – Fencing of the building site of the church.

Ø       Aug – Trip to Rome for World Youth Day.

Ø       Dec 24 Christmas meeting in ‘Cafe Golden Rosa’.

 

2001

 

Ø       Feb 5-9 Visit “Ad Limina Apostolorum”.

Ø       April – Beginning of the construction of the church and pastoral centre in Atyrau.

Ø       June 9 Consecration of the founding stone for the church in Atyrau.

Ø       Aug 4 Consecration of the church in Atyrau – Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski.

Ø       Aug 8 15 Bishop Wiktor Skworc’s visit in Atyrau, Astana and Karaganda.

Ø       Aug 15 Departure of Fr. Waldemar Patulski to Poland.

Ø       Nov – Arrival of Mrs. W. Kuttschrutter as parish volunteer.

 

2003

 

Ø       March – Fr. Zdzislaw Kotlinski and Fr. Bernard Zielinski took up pastoral work in Uralsk.

Ø       March 25 Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish established in Uralsk.

Ø       March 26 Purchase of apartment in Uralsk.

Ø       March 27 Registration of the parish in Uralsk under the Atyrau Apostolic Administration.

Ø       May 6 Fr. Janusz Kaleta appointed as Honorary Prelate of His Holiness.

Ø       Aug 29 Fr. Wojciech Maslanka arrived and was appointed Assistant Pastor in Atyrau.

Ø       Nov – Mission Station established in Kulsary.

  

2004

 

Ø       Dec/Jan – Fr. Jan Trela took up work in Aktjubinsk and Chromtau.

Ø       Feb 4 Purchase of apartment for the priest in Chromtau.

Ø       March 1 Municipal Department in Uralsk demised land for the construction of the church.

Ø       March 3 Registration of the parish in Chromtau.

Ø       May 21 Registration of the parish in Kulsary – after more than five months of efforts.

Ø       May – Beginning of the construction of the convent and pastoral centre in Atyrau.

Ø       Aug – Beginning of the construction of the church and pastoral centre in Uralsk.

Ø       Aug 8 Anniversary of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop J. Wesolowski’s visit to Atyrau.

Ø       Aug 9-13 Camp for the children and the youth from Atyrau.

Ø       Oct 5-8 Bishops’ Conference in Atyrau

 

2005 

 

Ø       Jan – Purchase of a house in Kulsary.

Ø       May 3 Fr. Zbigniew Kotlinski and Fr. Bernard Zielinski left, Fr. Jan Trela (May 3) and Fr. Wojciech Maslanka (May 30) took up work in Uralsk.

Ø       Aug – Youth’ trip to Colony.

Ø       July – Aug – camp for the children and teenagers in Aktau.

Ø       Aug/Sept – Arrival of Fr. Janusz Potok, Fr. Cezary Komosinski, Fr. Aleksandr Kalinouski.

Ø       Nov 18 The convent and the pastoral centre in Atyrau dedicated and put into service.

 

2006 

Ø       May 2 Fr. Dariusz Buras released from all functions performed in the Apostolic Administration in Atyrau and delegated to the Higher Interdiocesan Theological Seminary in Karaganda.

Ø       May 3 Fr. Cezary Komosinski becomes the general vicar of the Atyrau Apostolic Administration and the administrator of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Atyrau.

Ø       June 3 Fr. Aleksandr Kalinouski commissioned to establish a parish in Aktau.

Ø       Aug 6 Anniversary of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Atyrau, Archbishop Nuncio in Kazakhstan Jozef Wesolowski was the main celebrant and preacher.

Ø       Aug 7 –12 Summer camp for children and teenagers in Aktau.

Ø       Aug 10 Beginning of the reconstruction of the church and rectory in Kulsary.

Ø       Sept 15 Apostolic Administrator Fr. Janusz Kaleta nominated bishop.

Ø       Oct 12 Transport of construction materials to Uralsk and Kulsary received.

Ø       Oct 27 Announcement of Fr. Janusz Kaleta’s nomination as Bishop.

Ø       Nov 23 Fr. Janusz Kaleta consecrated Bishop in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

Ø       Dec 3 First Mass of Bishop Janusz Kaleta in Atyrau.

2007

 

Ø       Feb 14 Purchase of apartment in Aktau.

Ø       March 26 Registration of the parish in Aktau.

Ø       April 2 Meeting of the priests working in the Administration in Atyrau and Chrism Mass.

Ø       May 28 Cancellation of the land purchase permission in Chromtau.

Ø       Aug 2 – 8 Visit of Fr. James MacCann’s SJ from the “Office To Aid The Catholic Church In Central And Eastern Europe” in Atyrau.

Ø       July 25 – Aug 5 Camp for the children and teenagers from the Atyrau Apostolic Administration in Aktau.

Ø       Sept 2 Arrival of Fr. Jozef Wycislo to Uralsk.

Ø       Sept 4 Final decision of the Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus’ superiors to leave Atyrau.
