Parish history:

Village Osiernoje was founded in 1936 after illegal migration of Poles from the Ukraine to Kazakhstan. First summer people lived in tents, but they managed to build earth-houses before winter. Till 1954 repatriates were on the special book in Police of Internal Ministry and could not leave their places without permission. From the very first days people believed in God, expressing their belief in prayers, especially in the prayers of Rosary. In March of 1941 a lake appeared near the village. There were a lot of fish in it, which saved people from starvation in the wartime.

In May of 1990 Osiernoje’s villagers started church building. Future church building was sanctified by cardinal Jozef Glemp, primate of Poland on August 9 of 1992 and bishop Jan Pawel Lenga sanctified the church on June 27,1993.
Fr. Nico Hoogland from Holland chose the parish’s name and also took care of World Queen’s statue, which arrived in Osiernoje on December 14, 1991. On September 25, 1994 bishop Jan Pawel Lenga proclaimed World Queen as the main patroness of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

On June 25, 1995 during World Queen Maria’s festival Fr. Bishop Jan Pawel Lenga entrusted Kazakhstan to her guardianship in Osiernoje. On March 25, 1996 on Fr. Bishop’s instructions regular worship to the Holy Gifts began taking place everyday from 10 to 18 o’clock.

The statue of God’s Mother from Fatima visited us since 22 to 25 of June of 1997. On June 24, 1997 the statue of God’s Mother with fish was opened at the lake. It is the gratitude for the lake and fish’s gift. This statue was sanctified by Fr. John Paul II in Poland.

On June 28, 1998 bishop Jan Pawel Lenga sanctified cross (12 m high) on Volinska hill as monument to all repression’s sacrifices in Kazakhstan. Sister servants of virgin Maria’s immaculate conception work in the parish since August 7, 1994. They lead catechism, keep charitable drug store, children garden, work with children and young people, take care of the sick people. Sisters Rafala and Mariola work in Osiernoje now. Sisters Claudia, Tomila and Joanna helped in our parish before.
